this is the mayor's fault for not being able to manage our finances, if city workers are being cut then all city departments should pay including DWP. We should all feel the recession. Mayor has too many high paid employees and what have these great CEOs done for us. Thank you guys. I now know a woman should have been running the city.

Did you see the Fire Civilian - Ambulance Billing dept? Trying to bill those who need an ambulance. Isn't that what our taxes were supposed to pay for?

Did you notice the Fire Civilian - Ambulance Billing Unit. This is probably their attempt to collect money from those who need an ambulance. Isn't that what our taxes are supposed to pay for?

How about taking aways all their city cars???
• James  - What about the Mayor and City Council
The Mayor and the City Council need to take significant cuts to their own office budget. The City Council and even the Controller, Wendy Greuel claimed to take "cuts", however most of the City Council didn't and now we find that some of the Councilmember just shuffled funds - for example Street Furniture funds were used to hire staffers under contracts. Also notice the disproportionate cuts to the City Attorney's office which seems more like political revenge rather than thoughtful cuts.

that's a lot of jobs, but it is astonishing that so many of those positions eliminated are noted as having no impact

And all the people who say the city workers should be laid off so they can 'share the burden' of layoffs, just remember that when those are the 1 or 2,000 MORE people competing for YOUR competing for your job. Have a nice day.

@2-9-10 7:06: Mayor's staff is over 200. Some may be volunteers who get no pay but I'm not sure. Council staff average around 20+ per council member. It does seem Mayor's staff is exempt from his "shared sacrifice" mantra.

So tell us, why does the Mayor need 13 Deputy Mayors???? Really...how about consolidated some of their duties????

I can't believe how much the Cultural Affairs people were making. A lot of these people were making more then police officers. I agree Walter not one Deputy Mayor or anyone from Mayor's staff of 100. Not one single staffer from any city council office. We need to make sure none of these politicians ever are re elected or elected to higher office.

We can start losing lawsuits again. Let the city payout those huge settlements. Penny wise pound foolish. Typical of our dumb Mayor.
