David NahaiDepartment of Water and Power General Manager David Nahai is resigning. According to the mayor's office Nahai sent a letter announcing his resignation as head of the nation's largest utility.

Prior to being selected as DWP General Manager Nahai served as president of the Board of Water and Power Commissioners.

The mayor released the following statement Friday:

"I would like to thank David Nahai for his four years of service at the (LADWP), where he led the team responsible for increasing the city's renewable energy portfolio, reducing water consumption to record levels, and putting us on the path to be coal free by 2020."

Nahai, the statement says, has plans to serve as a senior advisor to the Clinton Climate Initiative.

Nahai's timing is fortuitous, as the DWP has drawn harsh criticism due to the increasing number of watermain breaks and raised water rates.

UPDATE:

The L.A. Times reports:

Mayor Villaraigosa has asked the DWP's board of commissioners to temporarily appoint his top environmental advisor, David Freeman, as interim general manager of the utility. Read more, here.

Several workers at DWP have come forth saying that the water main breaks were indeed caused by D'arcy and workers close to him in order to put pressure on Nahai. If you are a journalist, dont take this lightly. I urge all of you to investigate D'arcy's involvement in the water main breaks further.

Does the mayor report to Jay Carson, and Carson to Bing, and Nahai to Clinton, and Clinton to Bing go !!! Didn't Clinton use Bing's air-o-plane to rescue the two women in Korea?....Hummmm !......Let's not appoint any of these people to public office again ! I'm david.

Nahai announcing his resignation? Is it really a surprise? Let's begin to put the puzzel together. Hummm, the recently appointed deputy mayor Jay Carson, I think, worked for the Clintons and I think for billionare Steven Bing who I think wants a very big chunk of the MTA contracts.... Oh yeah...wasn't Jay with the mayor and Clinton in Vegas the other day?....Hummm...a couple of years ago I think the mayor turned down a Korean company who proposed to build our commuter trains cheaper than that Italian company who just the other day was awarded that MTA contract....I think the mayor turned them down because they proposed not to burden the taxpayers....Hummmm .

Just like Mehula at LAUSD leave the sinking ship before it crashes. Corruption is everywhere in both organizations as if it isn't obvious. However, they always seem to be able to find a new job with more pay if they do their puppetmasters bidding.
